6 Months Old!!!

This week Emmalin turns 6 months old so I thought I would do a little blog to let you know what she has been doing.

She loves to lay on her daddy's chest. She has a drooling problem:)

She has been eating baby food for about 2 months now and LOVES bananas, but will eat anything except applesauce (she hates applesauce ha ha go figure!).

This last week she got both of her bottom teeth. It is really hard to get a picture of because she sticks out her tongue every time her mouth is open. If you look close you can see them in this picture.

Emmalin is so excited that her feet can finally touch the ground so she can bounce! I no longer have to put a box under so she can reach. She loves this bouncer and man can she get it bouncing.

Emmalin is just getting the hang of sitting by herself and she thinks she is big stuff and loves to sit on the couch with us!

She loves the bath tub and has just learned to splash with her legs.

Emmie has started rubbing her eyes with both hands when she gets sleepy. Such cute and chubby little hands!

She has the cutest laugh but is very stingy with it.

Emmie is getting to be so much better than she use to be. As a lot of you know we had a very hard time, she was extremely "colicky". The word colicky does not even come close to describing what she was like. For the first 4 months we had to pace the floor with her bouncing her constantly to avoid her blood curdling screams. We went to many doctors to try to find the problem but to no avail, they didn't do anything. It was definitely the hardest time of my life. Especially because everyone else seemed to have angel babies, ones that hardly cry and sleep through the night and play on there own. Finally we made it through the first 4 months and gradually the screaming stopped. Now she is just VERY spoiled because she was used to being held 24/7 now that is what she thinks should happen. She cries every time I leave her sight and most of the time every time I put her down. I am not sure she will ever crawl because she hates being on her stomach and hardly ever lets me lay her down. She sleeps only about 2.5 hours at a time and is wide awake at 5 or so every morning. I guess she is just a work in progress! I just keep telling myself "she will sleep through the night someday" "she will sleep someday" ha ha it might work right?! I just tell myself that she is not as bad as she used to be and for that Chance and I are VERY glad!

Feeling Blessed

I have been feeling extremely blessed lately. Recently a few families close to me have suffered unimaginable losses. These awful events have made me realize how fortunate I really am. I think sometimes we all get stuck looking at our own life's and the things that we are going through, when there are so many people less fortunate than us. So I just wanted to tell everyone how grateful I am for everything.
I am so grateful for my wonderful husband, even though he gets on my nerves sometimes. I am so lucky to have my beautiful healthy baby girl, even though at 6 months she has never slept longer than 2.5 hours at a time. I am so blessed to live in this beautiful Valley, even though it seems like it will never quit snowing. I love our home, even though sometimes I get so sick being home all day. I am so grateful for my wonderful family, even though I don't tell them that very often. I am so glad that Chance has a wonderful job, even though it seems like I never see him. I am so lucky for all of my friends, even though I don't invite them over as much as I should. I am so grateful for the church, even though I can't ever hear any of the meetings over Emmie. I guess I just feel blessed. There is always someone that has it worse than you.
